Michael Crabtree Supports the San Jose Sharks

Posted Apr 17, 2014

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Michael Crabtree has embraced the Bay Area sports scene. The San Francisco 49ers had kind words for the San Jose Sharks upcoming playoff run.

It all started with an innocent tweet, one that was intended to be a show of support for his hometown team.

Michael Crabtree, a native of Dallas, Texas, asked his 260k Twitter followers, "Who going to all the @DallasStars home games with me for the playoffs?"

Apparently, the social media post didn't sit too well with the Bay Area's own professional hockey club, the San Jose Sharks.

"We kind of understand," the Sharks tweeted back in response. "But just know, @KingCrab15 looks pretty good on teal."

San Jose's Twitter account even added a mocked up "King Crab" No. 15 home jersey for the 49ers wideout.

Lesson learned. Crabtree was impressed.

"Can't sleep on the @SanJoseSharks," he later tweeted. "All luv... Is it ok to have 2 teams?"

Yeah, we here at Niners 365 think it's all good, just as long as the Sharks and Stars don't meet in the playoffs.

For those scoring at home, the Stars lost 4-3 to the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night. The Sharks open their 7-game series tonight at home against the Los Angeles Kings.

All the back-and-forth between Crabtree and the Sharks inspired some more creativity:
