Joe Staley Reliable as Pass-Catcher

Posted Dec 30, 2013

Joe Staley is a dependable receiver int tackle-eligible plays.

Joe Staley is a three-time Pro Bowl tackle and a two-time pass-catching tackle.

Staley padded his receiving stats on Sunday with a 14-yard catch against the Arizona Cardinals.

When Staley caught a 17-yard pass in 2011, the starting left tackle emphatically celebrated his first career reception with a first-down signal.

This time, however, Staley gave the ball back to the official and went back to the 49ers huddle.

"That was nice," Jim Harbaugh remarked after the game. "Been working on that for several weeks. We called it at a very nice time and Joe's been good on those in the past.

"He came through again."

Staley's highlight earned some attention on Twitter, too.
