Morning Tailgate: Sherman Describes SF Rivalry

Posted Jan 16, 2014

Outspoken Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman had choice words on the 49ers-Seahawks rivalry.

"There’s no love lost, there’s no love found."

Those were the choice words of All-Pro, Pro Bowl Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman on his team's rivalry with the San Francisco 49ers.

The third-year pro has been known to be outspoken on and off the field and Sherman was straightforward once again while summing up his feelings on Sunday's NFC title game against a division rival.

"It’s going to be intense," Sherman said on Wednesday. "It’s going to be physical. I don’t know if there’s going to be handshakes after this one."

Sherman, a former cornerback for Jim Harbaugh at Stanford, said there was no hatred towards the 49ers.

"I don’t hate anybody," said Sherman, who later added, "There will be some passion, some strong dislike."

On the same day, Harbaugh was asked about his memories of Sherman during their time together at Stanford. San Francisco's coach said there were no ill feelings on his part.

"I have great memories of Richard Sherman of when we were teammates at Stanford University," Harbaugh said. "And now we're adversaries, competitors. But, I still wish Richard great success and happiness in his career. I can't wish him luck this week because we're playing him. But, yeah I have great memories, fond memories, of Richard when we were teammates.”
