After being released by the Broncos in 2011, the 49ers signed Cox to a two-year contract on March 13, 2012. During the last two seasons with San Francisco, Cox appeared in 25 games and registered 18 tackles and two passes defensed, while adding seven special teams tackles

Released by the 49ers earlier this season on Nov. 12, Cox was later signed by Seattle where he appeared in two games for the Seahawks and tallied three tackles before being released on Dec. 27.

A native of Waco, TX, Cox played collegiately at Oklahoma State.
